Ludwigsburg brings Cherry back to the BBL

The MHP giants Ludwigsburg from the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) reacted to the loss of their top scorer Prentiss Hubb by signing the experienced point guard Will Cherry (31).

The US guard, 2016 German Cup winner with Alba Berlin, played for the Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt last season.

Cherry played eight NBA games for the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2014. The guard was later under contract in Lithuania, Croatia, Greece, Italy, Israel and Turkey, among others.

“He’s an experienced player with leadership qualities who will give us more depth in the guard position, which we desperately needed after Prentiss Hubb’s absence,” said Ludwigsburg coach Josh King. Hubb is out for weeks with a foot injury.
