Now she is afraid that the elevator will not be fixed in time to make the new appointment next Thursday. “If I have to cancel again on Thursday, I don’t know if I will still be welcome. And then? What will happen? Should I just die? Well, that sounds exaggerated, but that’s what it feels like.”
275 kilos
The wheelchair weighs 275 kilos, so without a lift it is almost impossible to lift it down the stairs from the second floor. And going to the hospital without a wheelchair is not an option for her, because she has to be in different departments in the hospital, she explains.
The fact that the telephone calls and appeals from residents to those responsible do not result in a working elevator is extremely frustrating.
“Sometimes I think they are playing with us,” said Lenie Marneef. “Then it is speedbut I don’t see it happening urgently.” And Lorraine Batenburg sees that too. “I really hold them liable for my health if I can’t go to the AVL next Thursday. It’s just not possible, this really isn’t possible.”
Part not in stock
Stadgenoot is aware of the problems with the elevator and would like to solve them urgently.
A spokesperson: “This week a technician came for repairs. A part has to be ordered that is not in stock. We are looking at whether we can expedite delivery and are also in contact with the lift installer. They indicate that they will carry out the repair immediately once the part has arrived.”
According to Stadgenoot, major maintenance is also planned because the elevator has been having problems for some time.
