RRome, 28 December. (askanews) – Images of central London enveloped in thick fog which is causing traffic disruption on a key weekend for New Year travel.
Those traveling by air are facing further inconveniences, as the fog that has covered much of the country in recent days has blocked flights and hindered landings and takeoffs.
Dozens of flights at Heathrow and Gatwick have been canceled and delayed and conditions are expected to remain this way throughout the weekend.
The BBC reported that 20 flights at Heathrow have already been canceled and a further 29 have been delayed. At Gatwick, 26 flights were delayed and one cancelled, following a series of cancellations already on Friday.
