Loan fixed: VfB Stuttgart brings Mo Dahoud from Brighton

VfB Stuttgart is strengthening with the two -time national player Mo Dahoud. The 28-year-old comes on a loan from the English club Brighton & Hove Albion. VfB has a purchase option for summer.

Dahoud, who wears the number 5 shirt for the Swabians, is looking forward to the adventure at VfB. “I’m very happy that the move to VfB worked out. It’s nice to be able to play in the Bundesliga again. VfB is a great club with a great tradition and great fans. The team plays exciting and impressive football,” Dahoud is quoted as saying in a press release.

Fabian Wohlgemuth is pleased that “with Mo Dahoud, a player has decided on VfB Stuttgart who will make us even better. Mo has already demonstrated its enormous football quality in the Bundesliga and internationally,” said the sports director.

With Dahoud comes to the Neckar with a lot of Bundesliga experience

The 28-year-old midfielder left Borussia Dortmund last summer and moved to English first division club Brighton & Hove Albion. After attacker Deniz Undav, Dahoud is the second player to come to the Neckar on loan from the Premier League representative.

The Syrian-born player played 226 competitive games for Borussia Mönchengladbach and Borussia Dortmund. The 2017 U21 European champions won the DFB Cup with BVB. Dahoud has one assist in 14 competitive games across all competitions this season.

In this winter transfer phase, the midfielder’s name is one of the most prominent in the Bundesliga. The transfer window is open until this Thursday at 6 p.m.
