In Koksijde today around 60% of the property is not permanently inhabited. This is partly because permanent living in holiday domains is legally not permitted. But Mayor Sander Loones wants to change that.
“The regulations are based on the condition of the end of the last century, when many holiday homes did not meet the quality standards. But in the meantime there are parks with luxurious brick homes that are perfectly habitable,” says Loones.
