Rare Stradivarius violin from 1714 brings in more than 14.5 million euros

A Stradivarius violin, which can be heard in soundtracks of various Hollywood films, among other things, has been auctioned in New York for $15.3 million (14.6 million euros). The violin, made in 1714 by the Italian instrument maker Antonio Stradivari, belonged to a Japanese collector who put it up for sale.
