Zelenski: ‘Conversation on Friday with Trump Best we have conducted’
The Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski is satisfied with the conversation he had on Friday with US President Donald Trump. “It was probably the best conversation we have had so far, and also the most productive,” he said in a video message.
The two presidents called each other on Friday. According to Zelenski, Trump has indicated that he wants to help Ukraine with air defense.
Earlier, Zelenski had asked the American president for Patriot air-aircraft missiles, but he did not make it clear in the video message whether Trump made concrete commitments. On Friday evening, Trump said that Ukraine desperately needs the missiles to defend themselves against Russia, which has performed the air strikes considerably in recent weeks.
In February a conversation in the White House between Zenski and Trump still degenerated into an open fight. Since then they have spoken to each other several times and the relationship has improved.
