A car drove into the crowd during a suspected terrorist attack on the Christmas market in the German city of Magdeburg on Friday evening. According to German media, five people were killed in the attack: a 9-year-old child and four women aged 45, 52, 67 and 75. At least two hundred people were injured, 41 of them very seriously. Images show the panic after the car crashed into the crowd. The driver has been arrested. According to the German newspaper ‘Die Welt’, the suspect is a man from Saudi Arabia, who rented the car shortly before the attack. It concerns a doctor who has lived in Germany since 2006 and is Islamophobic.
