Second regional heat wave is a fact: tropical warm with temperatures of 30.5 degrees
The regional heat wave started in Eindhoven on August 7. Then the mercury tapped 27 degrees. Also on 8 August it was in summer with 25.2 degrees and since then it became warmer and warmer every day. Thursday there is a heat wave at more weather stations in the country when a third tropical day or the required fifth summer day is also noted there.
Also in Gilze-Rijen a regional heat wave will most likely start today. Both Saturday and Sunday it became hot in Gilze-Rijen in the summer with 25 degrees and more and since Monday it was tropical. If it is also tropical in Gilze-Rijen today, the regional heat wave is also a fact there.
There is a heat wave if it becomes 25 degrees or more at least five days in a row. In addition, it must get tropical warm three times with maxima of 30 degrees or more. For an official heat wave, these conditions must be met in De Bilt. If there is no heat wave in De Bilt yet, but elsewhere in the country, we speak of a regional heat wave.
