Little Simz announces new album NO THANK YOU

Little Simz announced their new album NO THANK YOU on Tuesday (December 6th), but has not revealed the release date yet. In an Instagram post, she wrote some words that might hint at the direction of her fifth album. She is currently on tour in Europe and will next play in Berlin on December 10th and in Hamburg on December 13th, both shows are already sold out.

In the announcement clip, she writes, “Emotion is energy in motion. Honor your truth and your feelings. erase fear Boundaries are important.” This is followed by the album title NO THANK YOU and the comment “an album by Little Simz.” In the description of the post she writes that the album can already be saved via a link in her profile – and that we should get ready .

In a tweet that has since been deleted, Little Simz is said to have already named December 12 as the release date.

Her previous album SOMETIMES I MIGHT BE INTROVERT is considered her best album to date and earned her the 2022 UK Mercury Prize. The London native won other awards with the album, including the MOBO Award (Music of Black Origin), where she drew level with rapper Knucks. She also won the BRIT (British Record Industry Trust) Award for Best New Artist of the Year, despite it being her fourth album. At MUSIKEXPRESS we voted her album the best record of 2021.

With GRAY AREA, her third album, she was nominated for the 2019 Mercury Prize, but did not win. The album, like SOMETIMES I MIGHT BE INTROVERT, was produced by Inflo, who is part of the music collective Sault. Little Simz said of working with him when she won the Mercury Prize: “I didn’t know if I was going to finish the record. I felt all the emotions and really went through with it and he [Inflo] stood by me and pushed me to deliver this album to you guys.”
