Peter Gabriel has released the second song from his forthcoming album i/o: The Court (Dark-Side Mix). Of the song, he said, “I had this idea for the chorus, ‘the court will rise,’ so it became a free, impressionistic lyric that has to do with justice but also conveys a sense of urgency.”

It deals with the struggle between order and chaos and the legal system, which is supposed to help bring structure to chaos. “It’s often abused, it’s often unfair and discriminatory, but at the same time it’s probably an integral part of a civilized society. But sometimes we have to think about how that is actually implemented and applied,” the musician explained.

The song is the second release from the new album after “Panopticom”. It is not yet known when the new album will be released. More songs will be released with the phases of the moon – a new song comes with every full moon. There are also several remixes per song.

“i/o” is Gabriel’s first studio album in over 20 years with his own songs. From May the musician will be on tour with the album.
