Lionel Messi and another record: it is the cover of the best-selling Orsai magazine

Hernan Casciari announced that the next issue of orsai, his magazine, is already the best-selling edition of all. And it is that it will be published in it “Messi and his suitcase”the text that Casciari wrote inspired by the figure of Lionel Messi and that deeply moved “The flea”.

“It is not only the best-selling Orsai magazine in its history, but also the most angelic. The first copy that came out of print traveled to Paris this week so that the protagonist of the cover had it in hand before anyone else. There is Lionel Messi with his magazine, in his house. The rest of us mortals will have the magazine on February 15. Those who buy it will enter a raffle to travel anywhere in the world. We can’t stop being happy since December 18,” said Casciari’s post, which showed a photo of Messi together with Andy Kusnetzoff in the program “street dogs”where the player showed his copy of Orsai.

And it is that after the Qatar World Cupin which the National selection was crowned, Casciari chose the Kusnetzoff program to read “Messi and his suitcase” (also known as “Lionel’s journey”), the text that the author of “Have more respect from your mother”, he dedicated to Messi, of whom he is a fervent admirer. Both are Argentines who, due to different circumstances, had to leave their native soil: Casciari went to Spain shortly before the crisis of 2001 and almost around that time Messi arrived to start playing in Barcelona. In the text, the writer remembers how Messi’s appearance in European football helped him or never disconnect from his roots.

“At that time there were two classes of immigrants in Barcelona: those who kept their suitcases in the closet, as soon as they arrived in Spain, said ‘okay’, ‘uncle’ and ‘hosts’. And those of us who had not kept our suitcases kept the customs, such as mate or yeísmo. We said yuvia, we said caye, so we don’t forget each other. She began to pass the time. Messi became Barça’s undisputed number 10. The Leagues, the Copas del Rey and the Champions League arrived. And both he and us, the immigrants, knew that the accent was, of all things, the most difficult to maintain. It was very difficult for all of us to keep saying dribble instead of dribbling, but at the same time we knew that it was our final trench. And Messi was our leader in that battle. The boy, the one who did not speak, kept our way of speaking alive. We celebrated that, in the locker room, he always had the thermos and the mate. Suddenly he was the most famous human in Barcelona but, just like us, he never stopped being an Argentine elsewhere ”; Casciari wrote.

In December, shortly after the World Cup and as a preview, before its publication, Casciari read the text in “street dogs”, the Andy Kusnetzoff show. The narration was so heartfelt that it moved thousands of listeners, but especially Messi himself, who later sent his congratulations in an audio that the program aired.

“Anto (Rocuzzo) showed me about Hernán. What he wrote, how he told it. It was impressive, we both began to cry because it is something very true. I wanted to send him a greeting, thank him and tell him that we heard him, we were moved and I wanted to Let him know. I send you a big hug,” said “La Pulga” in the statement he made for the program. At that moment, Kusnetzoff and Casciari began to cry, unable to contain their emotion upon hearing Messi’s voice.
