Two concerts, Clipse and Phantogram as opening acts and a fish sandwich pop-up – Linkin Park will transform Hamburg into a three-day music festival in June.
Lead singer changes often lead to negative reactions from fans. Everything used to be mostly better. In the case of Linkin Park, however, the change seems to have triggered a real new hype. The new album “From Zero” debuted at number one in ten countries and landed at number 2 on the Billboard 200. Emily Armstrong sings together with Mike Shinoda, bringing the band back to familiar spheres.
Anyone who wants to experience the unique Linkin Park sound of rock, rap and now also metal shouts live can now do so in Germany. It starts in Hamburg on Monday, June 1st, immediately followed by June 3rd. The opening acts for both Hamburg evenings will be Phantogram and Clipse – two bands that fill their own concert halls. While Phantogram captivates with distorted guitars and synth shoegaze, Clipse sets the stage with rap and dark beats. The duo consisting of Pusha T and No Malice is an interesting opening act both in name and music.
This makes the concerts a larger event that, with its musical breadth, is more reminiscent of a festival appearance.
Fish sandwiches and fan hangout
But fans don’t just get good taste in music. The taste buds will also get their money’s worth – because there are fish sandwiches. Yes, you read that right. Linkin Park is running a fish sandwich pop-up at Kamp 13 from June 1st to 3rd and will provide all fans with the Hamburg specialty. If you can’t wait between the two concerts, you can celebrate on June 2nd at the fan hangout with pizza and karaoke in Große Freiheit 40. Hamburg is completely immersed in Linkin Park fever in the first three days of June.
Rock am Ring, Rock im Park and Munich
If the journey to the Hanseatic city is too far for you, you can look forward to further concerts by the band. Visitors to Rock am Ring and Rock im Park will get their money’s worth on June 5th and 7th, respectively. The trip to Germany then ends in the Allianz Arena in Munich on June 11th and 12th.
The weather in Hamburg promises to remain unusually dry for the performance times – so fans can sing along to “The Emptiness Machine” even without a rain cape. Remember to add some chewing gum after a fish sandwich with raw onions so as not to lose your partner during the opening act. As well as helping the other person in the mosh pit get back on their feet.
