Linda de Mol wants to save her career with Gooische Vrouwen: ‘Panic!’

Smart move or weakness? Now that Linda de Mol is struggling to regain the goodwill factor, she is throwing her big hit Gooische Vrouwen into the fray. There will be a revival. “This looks like panic football.”

Linda de Mol has really lost all sheen. The former TV queen was once widely respected, but today she is a shadow of her former self. Angry at everything and everyone. Outraged. Refuses to talk to the independent press, because she no longer trusts them. And so she makes it very difficult for herself.

Linda in the doldrums

I love Holland? It was once the show that managed to drive Paul de Leeuw off the air, but not much is left of it now: according to critics, Linda does not appear credible as the laughing center of this show, because she sits at home crying about the misconduct from her guy, who has yet to appear at the gate.

Miljoenenjacht still manages to charm viewers, but almost everything else has flopped since her departure from RTL 4: Ladies Night? In the TV graveyard. This Quiz Is For You? Haven’t heard anything since. The Dating Quiz? Ditto. Linda’s Winter Month? She can no longer present them credibly since she no longer gives interviews.

Gooische Vrouwen

Well, what else do you have to do? Falling back on old successes. And in Linda’s case, that means that another eight-part series of episodes of her former hit show Gooische Vrouwen will be broadcast again. All the main characters are back, including the extravagant, pink character Yari. Let’s see if that is still tolerated in 2024…

SBS 6 will broadcast it on TV at the end of next year, Peter van der Vorst can put it on Videoland. “The old seasons, the first five, are still very popular there,” he says in one lyrical video. “I am therefore very happy that Linda de Mol and Will Koopman have joined forces again for a sequel.”

Last straw

Martijn Zeven, Quote’s online chef, sees it as a desperate attempt by Linda to give her career a boost. “Is this the last straw to get Linda’s career out of the doldrums?” he sneers X.

Podcast maker Victor Hopman: “I think so, everyone wants to forget that Five Live ever existed.”

Martijn: “I Love Holland has never become what it once was. Anyway, Gooische Vrouwen was such a golden formula that you think it can’t go wrong…”

Panic football

Victor doubts that. “But will it still work? Many jokes are no longer possible, Tippi Wan is no longer possible, Willemijn can no longer participate. Everyone is a lot older now, it’s going to be difficult.”

And also in the comment field NU.nl people react very skeptically. “It’s starting to look like panic football,” says one Simplon. And KC: “I thought it was a nice series, but I’m not looking forward to a new season at all. Everything comes to an end, I think.”

Disappointment

NU.nl visitor Ron fears that it will be a huge deception. “That usually results in a huge setback. Gooische Vrouwen was really great at the time, but times have changed and certainly the popularity of Linda de Mol is now subject to wear and tear.”

“In short, it seems like a bad plan to me,” he concludes.
