Liberation campaign at a height of 32 meters for visitors in roller coaster Plopsaland | Abroad

The first two people were released from their plight just before 10 p.m., the other seven were put on the ground around 11:30 p.m. They are taken to hospitals in the area for observation.

At around 5.30 pm it went wrong and the attraction stopped. The fire brigade was called to get the seven out of the roller coaster. The park was evacuated. The attraction will open in July 2021 and is the very first ‘extreme spinning coaster’ in Europe. Good luck in an accident, the device was not upside down when the malfunction occurred. “We are in constant contact with the occupants,” Plopsaland CEO Steve Van den Kerkhof said to VRT earlier in the evening. “It is getting cold, so we hope we can free the people as soon as possible.”

They are three teenagers and four adults. Three of them are Germans, aged 16, 21 and 23, say friends who did not dare to take the ride in advance, Nieuwsblad reports. The attraction opened in July 2021 and is the very first ‘extreme spinning coaster’ in Europe.

With the help of chainsaws extra space was created for the rescue operation. Forty minutes later, a yellow crane was visible next to the ride’s cart. At around 9 p.m. an attempt was made to get the first people out of the cart, but that was not easy due to the strong wind. The container that is attached to the tap started to rotate due to the wind.

According to the park, the cart of the attraction would have stopped after the catapult, just before the descent. It is not yet clear what could have caused this. “We measure all our attractions, there is also an anemometer. The wind was good, even well below the values. So the situation with the wind was okay. So we have yet to see what the cause was,” said the park director.
