Leo Komarov’s salary: Swedish media reveals

Leo Komarov won Olympic gold in Leijon last winter. PDO

At the weekend it was reported that Leo Komarov move to Lulea. Reporter of SportExpressen Johan Svensson reveals, relying on his sources, that the net salary for the season is 230,000 euros.

– Komarov’s contract is one of the most expensive in Luleå HF – but far from the most expensive in the SHL, Svensson writes.

– There are probably at least 20 more expensive players in the SHL (in the starting season).

Komarov, 35, played last season for the New York Islanders and SKA St. Petersburg.

Luleå HF is the reigning SHL champion and one of the early favorites in the CHL season that has started. In addition to Komarov, there are other Finns in the team: Julius Honka, Olli Nikupeteri, Juhani Tyrväinen and Joonas Rask.

Svensson also reported that Komarov waited until the last for offers from the NHL. When there were no such reports from the organization, at least to Komarov’s liking, the contract for Lulea was quickly established.
