At the season finale: DSV star Dürr drives on the podium in slalom

Successful completion of a mixed ski season for Lena Dürr. The DSV athlete drives on the podium in Sun Valley slalom. Only one was overwhelming.
Lena Dürr once again set a exclamation mark at the World Cup final in Sun Valley. The 33-year-old ranked second in the last slalom of the season and secured a podium for the fourth time this winter. She only had to give up Mikaela Shiffrin.
The American celebrated her 101st World Cup victory-in a season that was difficult for her after a fall and an injury. In the end, Shiffrin was clearly ahead of the competition and, with a lead of 1.13 seconds, referred Dürr to second place. “I felt good, better than expected. My skiing is very powerful, I am very happy,” said the 29-year-old after the race.
Dürr narrowly prevailed against Sloveno Andreja Slokar in a close duel for third place – with a lead of only one hundredth of a second. For the German technology specialist, it was the fourth podium placement of the season after a second and two third places.
Emma Aicher finished the race in 13th place. The 20-year-old, who convinced this winter with two wins and a second place, missed the top ten at the end, but looks back on a strong season.
The small crystal ball in the Slalom World Cup went to Zrinka Ljutic. The Croatian took tenth in the final and defended her leadership in discipline rating just ahead of the Austrian Katharina Liensberger, who became fifth. According to Janica Kostelic, Ljutic is the second Croatian who was able to secure the slalom overall victory.
