3rd Secret was also with guitarist Bubba Dupree (from a slag in the punk band Void) and tongs Jennifer Johnson and Jillian Raye, who had started with Novoselic in the band Giants in the Trees.
Zowel Nirvana, Soundgarden as Pearl Jam were uithangborden van grunge, a subgenre van rockmusiek dat ontstond in en rond Seattle – waar de drie bands hun thuishaven hadden – en in de vroege jaren 90, Dankzij het succes van albums als Nevermind (nirvana), Ten (Pearl Jam) en Superunknown (Soundgarden) became immensely popular. After the end of Nirvana, drummer Dave Grohl directed the successful group Foo Fighters op, and then Novoselic started various smaller projects, such as the band Sweet 75. He speelde al met Thayil same in the punk band No WTO Combo, en maakt nu en dan een gastoptreden bij Foo Fighters. In February he had reported in a similar tweet that “druk bezig” was met with the “afwerken van een album”. Also on the website hintte Novoselic on a new music project with Thayil.
That remains the case for the debut of the 3rd Secret in the first place, where Novoselic has the bulk of eleven songs written. The album was largely produced by Jack Endino, which was written a long time ago and also included a button with the opnames from it bleachthe debut album of Nirvana.
