The legends of Iskelmämaailma join forces when Lea Laven, Marion Rung, Markku Aro and Kai Hyttinen are going on a joint concert tour. The tour called Together starts on December 29 in Kotka, and the last notes of the tour will be released in Joensuu at the end of February. The tour covers 18 towns.

75-year-old Lea Laven looks forward to concerts.

– I expect a great atmosphere and I believe that we will achieve it, Laven says to Iltalehte.

Although the stage is full of stars with long careers, according to Laven, egos do not clash among the group. The other artists on the tour also say the same. The artists clearly get along well with each other, and it can already be seen from their good-natured banter during interviews. Laven and Rung have already shared the same stages on the Leidit lavalla tour in 2000.

The repertoire for the upcoming tour will be put together by the conductor Esa Nieminen.

Even the fact that he experienced a nasty injury earlier in the summer does not dampen Laven’s enthusiasm for the upcoming tour. He fell on the beach stones in Naantali in July and broke his upper arm. He suffered three fractures to the upper part of his right upper arm. Laven says that he has recovered “pretty well”, but the fractures have not completely healed. Sitting on an armchair, he illustrates that the hand already moves slightly upwards when lifted from the armrest.

– At one point you can already throw the choreography of the right hand, Laven mumbles.

Laven made a big decision regarding fracture treatment.

– I was able to choose either to cut or let it heal the old way, so to speak, on its own.

Laven decided not to have surgery. The decision was easy for him, although he can’t explain why he decided exactly like that.

– I’d rather like this than on the cutting board, says Laven.

Canceled his gigs

The injury significantly made everyday life difficult, starting with putting on clothes and putting on shoes. Laven has also not been able to drive a car since his injury. However, the hitting legend didn’t have to spend a day as a bed patient. He had to cancel his summer gigs, which he found particularly unfortunate.

It is not known whether the places will be completely restored.

– It has to be trampled down and tried to be revived, but yes, it will take months before it is completely finished, if at all.

Among other things A dark woman – and No, no, no – the singer, known for his hits, firmly believes that the injury will not affect the concerts of the upcoming Together tour in any way. In general, getting older has affected my ability to cope at gigs.

– Yes, the body is starting to show the passing of the years.

However, the passing of the years has not affected the most important thing. The expressive voice is still there.

– It has not affected the singing in any way. I can still sing quite well and recognisably, says Laven.
