New appointment with Le Iene Present: Insidethe spinoff program of Hyenas dedicated every week to the in-depth analysis of a single investigation. Today’s episode, Thursday 23 November, on Italia 1 and Mediaset Infinity, it is truly special with the presence of Roberto Saviano as a guest to talk about the Camorra.

Le Iene Present: Inside the November 23rd episode

The episode of Le Iene Present: Inside it’s simply called The Camorra. Julius Goliath will go on a journey-story written by Francesca Di Stefano to raise awareness of one of the four Italian mafias. During the episode there will be several testimonies dedicated to the people who continue to fight despite having been threatened. Roberto Saviano will accompany Julius Goliath in this story. The journalist and writer has been under guard for 17 years for his public denunciations of the Camorra. During the program Roberto Saviano explains how a short circuit is often generated whereby “if you talk about evil you are considered a sort of spreader of evil, as if you even legitimize or exalt it”. In this aspect a Le Iene Present InsideSaviano says he sees an almost silenced mechanism in it: “If you don’t talk about it you’re saving the territory, if you talk about it, you’re infecting it, and instead it’s precisely this the only thing that organized crime really fearsthat a light is shined on what he does, that we realize that he exists.”

live with the escort

Saviano told Giulio Golia about life with an escort, especially how others see this life of his, given that there are those who think that they are benefits such as not having to look for parking or the fact that he has a state car. “It’s incredible to think like that. They seem like benefits to you, but what you say is actually not true. Having the escort is not having the drivers. It’s a closed life, you’re never alone, every time you’re forced into an endless procedure. It’s not a privilege, it’s a drama. The spontaneity of a gesture, a change of itinerary, can never arise. If I, at this moment, ask you to go to the bathroom, you will see that there is a person behind my door, and this has been going on since I was 26 years old. Now I’m 44, she screwed up everything.” Saviano underlines how it is a life never lived fully, in which you cannot make mistakes, in which everything is conditioned.

the weapons

The writer with Giulio Golia for Le Iene Present Insidein the episode of Thursday 23 November on Italia 1, also talks about Naples and how we often fall into the superficial analysis whereby minors use violence because they have seen TV series like Gomorrah or Sea Outside. An extreme simplification because really talking about the spread of weapons in the city would be more complex. “An impressive fact is that in 2022, in six months, they seized around two weapons a day in the city of Naples alone.”

not only Roberto Saviano

In the episode of Le Iene Present Inside on Thursday 23 November there will also be the story of the Honorable Federico Cafiero de Raho, who conducted numerous investigations against the Casalesi clan and of the magistrate Catello Maresca, prosecutor for ten years of the DDA of Naples who led to the arrest of the boss Giuseppe Zagaria.
