The photos of the new mascot are on the biancazzurri social channels: the first flight will only take place in 2026, the name will be chosen with a survey. But Juan Bernabé isn’t there

Collaborator

November 17 – 9.03pm – MILAN

Not much left. Lazio fans are about to embrace their symbol again. Almost a year after the last flight, the eagle will return to perform before the Biancocelesti’s home matches. In January, following the scandal relating to the former falconer, the company decided to interrupt the collaboration with the former falconer Juan Bernabè, however, consequently also suspending the flying ritual which had lasted since 2010 and which especially children like so much. Without the eagle, curiously, Lazio struggled to score points at home: 5 wins, 8 draws and 4 defeats (including the one on penalties against Bodo).

next steps

Once the new eagle has been identified, which Lazio proudly displayed on their social networks, it will now be up to the new falconer (not yet announced) to train the animal in view of the flights inside the Olimpico. It will take a few weeks, the first flight is likely to take place only in 2026, but a certain satisfaction emerges from Formello at having finally closed the search. The company also intends to hold a competition to allow fans to choose the name of the new eagle. The initiative was also proposed in 2010, with a satisfaction survey proposed on the official website. After a long screening, the three most voted names, in addition obviously to Olimpia, were Libera, Vittoria and Skeggia.

controversy

But there is controversy: in a video on Instagram the old falconer Juan Bernabè replies to the photo published by the club on its social channels: “The eagle that appears in all the photos on social media relating to the new eagle is Olimpia. Things are going from bad to worse, like who are you kidding. Hugs.”
