“A very difficult story”
German Wimbledon hope loves her trainer

Laura Siegemund is dealing with Aryna Sabalenka in the quarter -finals in Wimbledon. At your side: your trainer, who is your partner at the same time.
Before Laura Siegemund is probably the greatest tennis match in her career. The 37-year-old sensationally played into the quarter-finals at the Grand Slam tournament in Wimbledon. There the currently most difficult opponent is waiting for the German: Aryna Sabalenka, number one in the world rankings.
The Belarusin has won three Grand Slam titles in her career. She triumphed twice at the Australian Open (2023, 2024), once with the US Open (2024). In Wimbledon, Sabalenka reached the semi -finals in 2021 and 2023. She still lacks the title at the classic lawn. This year it should be ready.
The dream of Sabalenka from victory in Wimbledon could break up early on Tuesday and at the same time underpin her own hopes for the very big litter in South London. She is supported by her trainer Antonio Zucca in this project. He is her partner at the same time – which is not always easy for both.
“Everyone who works with their partner also knows that: This is a very difficult story, it is very difficult to find a balance,” said Siegem and after the quarter -finals. “If things go as bombed as it is, there is not much where you can do together.”
But there are also times when this cannot always be separated, said Siegemund. “If things don’t go on the pitch, then carry it along and bring it into the relationship.” The couple would share a room all year round. “You can’t have any air from each other,” emphasized Siegemund. Sometimes that is not easy.
The Schwäbin and her friend who was four years younger had met at a tournament in Rome in 2017. The collaboration said that Zucca had accepted over time that she was a very self -employed player and that herself aroused in her game. Conversely, she learned “sometimes nothing to say and do what he says. I got a little softer over time.”
