In the La-Liga game between Las Palmas and Celta Vigo, Jasper Cillessen met with an opponent. For him, the evening ended on the operating table.
A heavy collision has ended a bad end for Jasper Cillessen. The Dutch goalkeeper from UD Las Palmas had to undergo emergency surgery after the league game against Celta Vigo.
In the 27th minute of the game, Cillessen bounced with opponent Borja Iglesias, who unintentionally hit the 35-year-old with his knee in the abdomen. The Dutch keeper remained injured and had to be treated on the field. A little later he was brought off the pitch with a stretcher.
Cillessen then immediately came to the hospital. There the doctors confirmed the suspicion of intestinal execution. According to the club, the procedure was minimally invasively.
