During a major inspection with a focus on undeclared work, customs officials checked taxis and driving services at BER Airport and in several Brandenburg cities on Saturday.

Violations or irregularities were found in more than every second driver, as the main customs office in Potsdam announced.

Of the 65 workers checked, 6 were reported to be improperly registered for social security. “In 29 other cases, irregularities arose, which entailed further audits by the financial control agency.”

64 cars were checked at the airport and in Rathenow, Falkensee, Nauen, Oranienburg, Sommerfeld, Hohenbruch, Neuruppin, Rheinsberg, Kyritz and Wittstock without any suspicion. The whole thing was part of a nationwide campaign.

The customs administration’s financial control for undeclared work carries out regular nationwide as well as regional focused audits throughout the year.
