In Eelde, the police held a large-scale alcohol and drug check on Saturday evening. 740 drivers were checked and three people were arrested.
A 63-year-old motorist from the municipality of Assen and a 44-year-old motorist from the municipality of Noordenveld were taken to the police station. They were found to be behind the wheel under the influence of alcohol.
A 36-year-old motorcyclist from the municipality of Tynaarlo was also taken to the police station. He was driving under the influence of drugs. The police kept control after the Flower Parade. The BOB prevention team of Veilig Verkeer Nederland was also present.
