Firefighters are still fighting the forest fire all night in the Loonse and Drunense Duinen National Park. There is an area of five hundred by five hundred meters on fire. “The fire brigade has a big job for the rest of the night to prevent the fire from expanding further,” says a spokesperson for the Security Region.
“Emergency services such as the police can go home, but the firefighters of different units stay in the area for the rest of the night. With traffic lines, they try to prevent the fire from expanding further.” People who suffer from the smoke are recommended to stay inside and keep windows and doors closed.
