Landmark victory – merciless Bayern overrun Freiburg

On Sunday, VfL Wolfsburg made a mistake in Leverkusen. FC Bayern’s women took their chance and took the lead in the table.

FC Bayern’s women are the new Bundesliga leaders. After VfL Wolfsburg’s 1-1 draw in Leverkusen, the Munich team took the opportunity to jump to first place and deservedly won 4-0 against SC Freiburg.

Linda Sembrant (6th minute) and national player Lea Schüller (19th) made things clear early on at the Bayern campus. In front of Bayern President Herbert Hainer, FCB increased the score with a double strike through Linda Dallmann (58th) and Katharina Naschenweng (60th).

The overwhelmed Freiburg team didn’t fire a single shot towards FC Bayern’s goal. While the home team celebrates being at the top of the table, Freiburg is standing still as a disappointing eighth place in the table.

FC Bayern – SC Freiburg 4-0

The live ticker for the game in the review

90th minute: It was almost 5-0, but substitute Giovanna Hoffmann cleared the ball off the line for Freiburg.

83rd minute: The game is bubbling along. Nothing dramatic is happening here today.

72nd minute: SC Freiburg didn’t get a single shot in Bayern’s direction. This is a class difference here today.

65th minute: Short addendum: The Freiburg team also made two substitutions before making it 3-0. Now a miracle is needed.

60th minute: The double blow! 4-0 for Bayern. Like Dallmann before, Katharina Naschenweng gets too much space on the left side. Her hard left-footed shot hit the bottom left of the Freiburg box, and Borggräfe looked anything but good. What would Jochen Breyer say to Jürgen Klopp? “The matter is over, right?”

58th minute: This is a change that coach Alexander Straus can pat himself on the back for. Dallmann gets too much space on the left side, goes solo into the penalty area and simply shoots. The ball lands in the net with a slight deflection. 3-0 for Bayern!

53rd minute: And then comes the double change. The two come into the party fresh, goalscorer Schüller and Sidney Lohmann leave the pitch.

52nd minute: While little is happening on the pitch, Linda Dallmann and Jovana Damjanovic are preparing to come on.

46th minute: And the ball rolls again. No changes on either side.

45th minute: Break in Munich. In front of Bayern President Herbert Hainer, the Munich team is safely leading 2-0 – and is therefore close to taking over the top spot in the Bundesliga.

40th minute: The game is flat, there are currently hardly any scoring opportunities. Bavaria doesn’t have to, Freiburg can’t – or so it seems.

35th minute: Freiburg is now trying to get into the game a little better, Bayern is managing. But the sports club has so far not posed any threat to goals.

31st minute: Harder tries from a distance, but her shot is too harmless, no problem for Freiburg goalkeeper Rafaela Borggräfe.

25th minute: The statistics speak clearly here so far. 5:0 shots for Bayern, plus a ball possession ratio of 61 to 39 percent. The guests are currently not getting into the game at all.

19th minute: Next goal for FC Bayern. Lea Schüller increases to 2:0. The national player starts at the right time, Pernille Harder serves her in an exemplary manner with a long ball from the center of midfield. Schüller runs away from Freiburg, finds the gap from a tight angle and increases.

16th minute: Free kick for FC Bayern from a good 25 meters away. But the standard set by Bühl achieves nothing…

12th minute: Freiburg is trying to slow down a little and calm the game down. Understandably, the guests don’t want to get under the wheels here.

7th minute: Bayern wants to step up, Schüller is sent on his way. But the national striker is apparently just offside.
