Antivaxers attack people at GGD injection locations
In Sittard, the corona protest was peaceful, but the situation is different at the GGD locations. Earlier there were reports of employees being harassed and vaccination locations being defaced. But the violence has increased in Heerlen in the past two days. Antivaxers sought a confrontation with the GGD employees. People who came to get a shot were also attacked. Almost 1,300 people came to the corona demonstration in Sittard on Wednesday evening. The tour of lights moved from the site at the Odaparking to the Markt. There were no disturbances. In fact. There was cheating on ‘Geneet van ‘t Laeve’.

Oaks from Sterrebos move expensive and underprivileged
Tree growers have serious doubts about transplanting 55 old oaks from the Sterrebos near Born to an adjacent area. This week it was announced that a large part of the Sterrebos will be cut down for the expansion of the car factory. A small part of the forest remains. More than fifty large oak trees will be moved from the area that will disappear to an adjacent area that has been designated for nature compensation.

Hôrster Carnival Parade may continue
Not two but three days and not on two but three squares, the opening of the Horster will take place on a regular basis, if Tuesday’s relaxations allow it. The organization of Hôrster Carnival Parade is in any case ready. If allowed, a total of 6,000 people can be received. Skeletonner Bram Zeegers is aiming for OS 2026
We’ve all done sledding. Lying on your stomach is even more exciting, especially if you go down through the bobsled track. Then we call it skeleton. Kimberley Bos is the contender for a medal of honor at the Olympic Games in this part in the coming days. Bram Zeegers from Venray has recently trained with Bos and hopes to come down at the Olympics himself in four years’ time.
