Kyrgios eliminated in Montreal Quarterfinals

Tennis star Nick Kyrgios retired from the ATP Masters in Montreal after his successful run in the quarterfinals. The Wimbledon finalist lost 6: 7 (4: 7), 7: 6 (7: 5), 1: 6 to the eighth-seeded Pole Hubert Hurkacz.

Two weeks before the US Open, Kyrgios had previously shown himself to be in impressive form. In the second round in Montreal he threw the Russian world number one Daniil Medvedev out of the tournament.

He also won two titles at the Masters in Washington a week ago. In addition to his first singles triumph in three years, the 27-year-old also won doubles.
