Both KV Oostende and Lierse Kempezonen have performed somewhat below expectations in the competition so far. Still, a win was a golden opportunity for both teams to join the wide mid-table. Losing would cause even more relegation stress.
The coastal team started the game strongly and after less than ten minutes Berte kicked the underside of the crossbar. Lierse got away well, but did manage to strike after half an hour. Oulare launched Ocansey and he neatly secured the 0-1 lead. There was hardly any danger from KV Oostende in the second half and the visitors managed to take the lead.
