Emotionales Update

Since days, doctors have hoped to bring Ralph Siegel out of his medically induced coma. His wife, Laura, now provides an emotional update from the Munich hospital.

Ralph Siegel (80) remains in a medically induced coma due to a severe pneumonia. Initially, doctors intended to wake the composer on Friday, but his heart is not yet strong enough, Laura Siegel (43) explained to the “Abendzeitung” on Sunday.

“Every day, there is a plan to wake him up,” Laura Siegel shared with the Munich newspaper. However, so far, the situation has not changed. “It hurts me so much,” said the wife of the ESC legend, who reportedly contacted the newspaper from the hospital.

Laura Siegel Shares World Cup Match with Ralph

Laura Siegel also revealed to the “Abendzeitung” that she showed her husband the World Cup quarter-final between Norway and England over the weekend. Ralph Siegel is known to be a huge fan of Norwegian striker Erling Haaland (25).

Just a few days ago, Laura Siegel told the “Bild” newspaper that her husband reacts to his songs when she plays them for him. His reaction was particularly noticeable to “Stay Humble,” an adaptation of his classic “Moskau,” which he wrote in 1979 for the band Dschinghis Khan.

Couple Cut Their Vacation Short in Spain

The severe pneumonia struck Ralph Siegel during a stay with his wife in Spain. When the first symptoms appeared, the couple cut their vacation short. Laura Siegel had her husband transferred back to Munich, where he has since been treated in the Intensive Care Unit of a local hospital.
