“I am furious. Very furious. I did everything out of good faith. My wife and I hardly sleep anymore,” says the victimized Bas.

In September, Tijn Gielen (25) goes missing. There has been a massive search for him for about a month and a half. Friends, family, the police, the Veterans Search Team and even complete strangers are looking out for him.

Many are now familiar with the image of the smiling boy with the red hair, wearing a black jacket with a hood. His fingers held out in front of him say peace. His photos were everywhere. It turns out to be a search that – as we now know – cannot have a happy ending from the start.

Suspects drive to chalet at night

On October 16th brothers S. and M. from Alkmaar were arrested on suspicion of killing Tijn and taking his body. Joint research by NH and Streeksstad Centraal shows that he was transported to Belgium before he was reported missing.

At the beginning of September, Bas and his wife received a question from a good acquaintance. That is 38-year-old suspect S. Whether he and his family can use their holiday home in Belgium. It is located in a forest just across the Dutch border, near the Bobbejaanland amusement park.
