KNMI warns of slipperiness in Drenthe

The KNMI has issued code yellow for the province of Drenthe due to slipperiness. This is caused by (wet) snow, snow residues and/or freezing.

The warning applies to the whole of the Netherlands. During the course of the day, the risk of slipperiness due to wet snow also increases in the rest of the country.

The warning for Drenthe will remain in force until Saturday morning. The cause of the slipperiness on Saturday is freezing wet roads.

Rijkswaterstaat also warns on Friday morning for code yellow in the northern provinces. “Our gritters are busy clearing the road of snow. Are you going on the road? Be extra alert and adjust your driving style if necessary,” Rijkswaterstaat said on Twitter.
