Knight Military William Order Gijs Tuinman (42) has a prominent role on 4 and 5 May this year. During the National Commemoration in Amsterdam he reflects on a very personal war experience, the death of his comrade Kevin van de Rijdt. The corporal was killed in Afghanistan (2009). A day later, the lieutenant colonel delivers the May 5 lecture.
