Knife attack on Alexanderplatz – man (56) injured in the head

Act of violence at Alexanderplatz on Friday afternoon. A man (56) was injured in the head after being attacked with a knife.

According to previous police investigations, two men aged 56 and 34 initially got into a verbal argument around 5:20 p.m. Location: an exchange office on Alexanderplatz.

They then moved their confrontation to the front of the store, where the brutal attack occurred.

The 34-year-old pulled out a knife and injured the 56-year-old multiple times in the head.

The injured man was taken to hospital. According to the current status, there should be no danger to life. The suspected stabber initially walked away from the crime scene, but was arrested a short time later by the federal police at the Alexanderplatz S-Bahn station.

During the search of the suspect, two passports were found, one of which turned out to be a fake. The murder knife was not found. The blood sample showed a value of around 1.3 per mille. The police investigation is ongoing.
