Former boxing world champion Vitali Klitschko said goodbye to Franz Beckenbauer with emotional words.
“My brother and I knew Franz and were friends for many years. A great professional and a man with a big heart. Sincere, friendly, sensitive,” wrote Kiev’s mayor on the Telegram platform.
Klitschko also praised the German football idol regarding Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine.
“He supported Ukraine in its democratic European aspirations. Both during the Revolution of Dignity and when Russia invaded our country,” said the 52-year-old.
