Verplancke’s illustration graces the December 8 cover and shows a lone American President Donald Trump near a gigantic Christmas tree set up in an enormous, golden hall. In his drawing he wanted to show how gold loses its shine in the soft light of Christmas lights.
The 61-year-old Verplancke comes from Zwevegem and has built an impressive international career in recent years. His work has already appeared in numerous foreign media and has been awarded several international prizes.
