Kik opens first logistics center in Poland

The textile discounter Kik opened its first logistics center in Poland at the beginning of the month. The facility in the town of Rabowice near the western Polish metropolis of Poznań is operated by the subsidiary LSK Polska and has a storage area of 40,000 square meters, Kik Textilien und Non-Food GmbH announced on Wednesday. In the future, an expansion of an additional 22,000 square meters is possible.

Up to 130 employees will be employed at the new location in the long term. “According to current planning, the new logistics center will begin supplying Polish Kik branches with goods from January 2024,” the company explained. “Delivery to Kik locations in the eastern German states will also begin in the course of the spring.”

Michael Frölich, one of the managing directors of Kik Logistik GmbH, explained the choice of location. “With around 460 stationary branches, Poland is a particularly important market for us,” he explained in a statement. “Our new logistics center shows the dynamic development that Kik is undergoing in Europe and enables us to supply both our Polish locations and numerous branches in Germany even more efficiently.”

With the new facility in Rabowice, the retailer now has three logistics centers. The others are located at the company headquarters in Bönen and in Slovakia.
