The discounter Kik Textiles and Non-Food GmbH now also has clothing from recycled materials in its range. The new recycling collection includes “fashion items for women, men and children”, including sweatshirts, jogging pants, sweat jackets, fleece jackets and jeans, shared the company based in Bönen on Monday.
The corresponding articles consist of twenty to a hundred percent of recycled material and are certified “according to the internationally recognized standards GRS (Global Recycled Standard) and RCS (Recycled Claim Standard)”, explained the retailer.
Verena Gaese, the managing director of Textil at Kik, explained the project. “With the recycling collection, we test for the first time on a large scale how recycled materials can be integrated into our ranges-without compromises at price, quality and comfort,” she said in a statement. “For us, this is a great progress in the context of our sustainability strategy.”
Gaese also emphasized the directional importance of the innovation. “We are convinced that the new collection complements our range very well,” she emphasized. “This is not only for us, but overall a big step in the discount area.”
