Rangers’ Finnish striker Kaapo Kako was injured last night at the end of the second period in a duel situation Buffalo pack Erik Johnson against.

The Finn fell in a seemingly harmless situation in a nasty way. In the scramble, the attacker’s left leg twisted into an unnatural position against the wing.

– Number 24 just writhed in pain on the ice, NHL reporter Mollie Walker reports in message service X.

The second was tackled off the ice, and he never returned to the box. Rangers head coach Peter Laviolette Kakko will undergo further examinations due to a lower body injury. More information about the attacker’s condition will be announced on Tuesday.

The Turkuin’s early season has been really sticky in terms of points. The second has scored 2+1 in 20 matches.

Luukkonen was brilliant

Rangers’ evening was otherwise gloomy, as the team lost in front of their home crowd 1–5.

One of Buffalo’s heroes was the second-star goalkeeper Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, who made 25 saves in the game. The Finn made a real ghost save in the third period when he stopped Jimmy Vesey kudi with his stick.

– Sometimes it’s lucky, sometimes not. It tries to follow the game as long as possible, and this time he puck hit the stick. I’m happy about that, but I won’t be trying the same thing anytime soon, Luukkonen stated on the NHL website.

The win was the Finn’s third in a row. He has conceded only five goals in these winning games.
