Vieremä’s Koito skier grabbed the sixteenth personal Finnish championship of his career.
Kerttu Niskanen36, won the sixteenth personal cross -country Finnish championship in Taivalkoski on Sunday.
-It sounds good-especially when you have to skip the January Championships. It’s a good balance, Niskanen commented and suggested that due to the hurry of the World Cup, he had often had to stay aside from the Heart Winter Championship.
Do you remember when you won your first personal championship?
– No, Niskanen replied.
– For a moment. I think it should be in Kuopio for 30 kilometers, he added.
The skier remembered correctly.
The first title came in Kuopio in 2011 at a free 30 kilometer off.
Niskanen now has as many championships as Riitta-Liisa Roponen. Marja-Liisa Kirvesniemi is with 28 titles with her own figures.
When men are included in the same statistics, Niskanen is also before Mika Myllylä (25 championships), Harri Kirvesniemi (20) and Juha Mieto (19).
Niskanen will continue his career for at least next season, so more gold medals are probably coming.
Help for a rush
Kerttu Niskanen once again ventilated the Finnish Championship. Jussi Saarinen
Sunday’s championship from Taivalkoski’s free 30 kilometer temporary output competition came off with a so -called basic performance.
– At the end of the relaxed performance it came. I thought I’d ski Vilma is rushing Stick and see what the situation is. It was pretty good for me.
Niskanen competed with number 99 and Ryytty 95, so Niskanen set off two minutes before the Iisalmi woman.
– I heard that Vilma has a tough medal. Then I asked Vilma if he needed help. Vilma responded affirmatively. I told her to take silver off. The last 7.1 kilometer round went according to Vilma, Niskanen reports.
She really helped me to get silver. Vilma Nissinen It was up to the 21.9 kilometer break point, but Niskanen’s stroke was wrapped in silver with a 32 second difference between Nissinen.
Big question

Niskanen moves from Taivalkoski to Muonio Olos. He has not yet resolved whether Lapponia skiing will compete next week.
– If the tag is placed on the chest, it is more skiing. The actual racing season 2024-25 is now over.
The Finn thirstedly thirsted for success in the World Cup overall. He succeeded in a commendable manner. The third, Tour de Skin fourth and five personal ball seats in the overall competition.
– The season had a good taste. The level was really hard. I am pleased with the World Cup ball places. Of course, I am not happy with the World Cup. Two medals could have come in the messages if luck had turned good. I am not satisfied with the Pertsa Kymppi of the World Championships (ninth).
Are you approaching the 2025-26 Olympic or World Cup overall race season?
– I can’t say anything about that yet.
