Kelly Osbourne about grief and attachment
“I sat down a hundred times to write that. And still don’t know if words can ever be enough. But with all my heart: Thank you,” Kelly started your contribution. “The love, the support and the beautiful news that I have received from so many of you really helped me to survive the hardest moment of my life. Every friendly word, every shared memory, every little compassion means more than I can ever explain.”
She added: “Mourning is something strange. She gets over in waves. I will not be okay for a while. But knowing that my family is not alone in our pain makes a difference.”
Osbourne ended her contribution with thanks to her father’s fans for “their existence”. She wrote: “I stick to love, the light and the legacy he left. I love you all so much.”
A few days after his death, Kelly shared a short message and used the initial line of Black Sabbath’s “Changes” – a song that she later sang with her father in a duet – to break her silence: “I’m unhappy. I’m so sad. I lost my best friend.”
