Katy Perry experienced an almost catastrophic moment at her concert on Friday in San Francisco, When her huge butterfly frequency fell several meters into the depth while the singer rode on it.

One of the stage sets of the Lifetime Tour shows Perry on the back of the butterfly props, while it hovers over the audience-to match her performance of “Roar”. But on Friday in the Chase Center Arena there was a short breakdown: the prop suddenly dropped by several meters in the middle of flight – to the surprise of Perrry’s and probably also the audience below:

After the first fright, Perry calmly fell, and – after the butterfly had stabilized – she got back into “Roar”. The rest of the show went without further incidents.

Later, Perry joked on Instagram over the near-accident and shared a screenshot of a close-up of her face the moment the butterfly fell off. “Good night, San Fran,” she joked.

The “Roar” incident marked the second time this summer that a floating concert frequency endangered both artists and the audience: at the end of June there was a similar incident at Beyoncé when her flying car tipped over an audience in Houston during “16 Carreages”. This led to a short delay-and to the temporary cancellation of the song from the Cowboy Carter tour setlist until the car was replaced by a horse.

As “People” reported, Perry had already suffered a stage breakdown during the Australia stage of her tour: a floating ball in which she appeared began to tilt during the performance, whereupon she had to hold onto the cables that wore the ball.
