Kasper Puutio has a loud fan club in Edmonton

A couple of years ago, Adam, Melinda, Caleb, Lucas and Conor Dawe acted as Kasper Puutio’s host family in Swift Current, Saskakatoon. The whole family cheers on Finland at the World Cup. LAURI KALIMA

At Edmonton’s Rogers Place, one family stood out throughout the World Cup tournament. Dressed in Suomi shirts Daven the family did not support their home country, but Finland.

The parents had it on Kasper Puutio jersey.

– We are Kasper’s Canadian host family from Swift Current, Saskatoon. When Kasper played in the Canadian Junior League for the Broncos, he lived with us from August 2019 to January 2020. Then he was traded to the Everett Silvertips team, says the father of the family Adam Dawe.

A matter-of-fact young man

The whole family praises the Finnish defender.

– He is a really great guy. He gets along with our children, i.e. his “brothers”, perfectly. Kasper is a great young man. As I tell everyone, Kasper is my son, Melinda Dawe laugh.

– We know his parents and brother too. We are planning a trip to Finland, we want to see Kasper play in KalPa.

The family is a beer in Edmonton for almost the entire Games.

– Two Finnish games were missed. We had to go home sometimes because of the wedding.

The Canadian family only supports Finland.

– We are all one hundred percent fans of Finland. Our Canadian friends understand that. Many of them know Kasper.

– In fact, many of our family members have also started cheering for Finland, Adam and Melinda state.

– We are ready for the final. Finland wins, the family assures.
