Who is extending his contract at FC Bayern and who is leaving the club? Star striker Harry Kane has clear ideas about how the team should continue.
Bayern star Harry Kane has spoken out in favor of extending the contracts of key players such as Jamal Musiala, Joshua Kimmich and Alphonso Davies. After the 3-2 win against VfL Wolfsburg on Saturday afternoon, Kane explained how important these players are for the club’s future. “I hope that they sign,” emphasized the goalscorer, “so that we can continue to build on what we have already built this season.”
In addition to his regular teammates at FC Bayern, Kane also mentioned substitute Eric Dier, whose contract expires in the summer. “Of course I would love for Eric to stay,” said Kane about the defender, who he played with at Tottenham. Dier has done a great job so far as a backup for Min-Jae Kim and Dayot Upamecano.
Kane also had words of praise for Leroy Sané, whose contract also expires in a few months. “We all know what qualities Leroy has,” enthused the Englishman. He highlighted Sané’s speed and technical ability and explained that he supported the winger to become more of a goal threat. “I think he’s starting to do that.” Sané is “a fantastic player and it’s a pleasure to play with him,” said Kane, who currently leads the league’s top scorers list with 16 goals.
After the win in Wolfsburg, Bayern remain at the top of the table – four points ahead of their pursuers and champions Bayer Leverkusen. On Wednesday the Munich team will travel to Rotterdam for a guest appearance in the Champions League. On Saturday, coach Vincent Kompany’s team will play against SC Freiburg.
