Kalle Rovanperä received a message from the Finnish police – He answered firmly

Kalle Rovanperä argues with the Police Board, reports Ilta-Sanomat.

Double World Rally Champion Kalle Rovanperä and the police have exchanged messages about the content of Rovanperä’s Instagram account, reports Evening News.

According to IS, the Police Administration sent Rovanperä a clarification request at the beginning of September, the reason for which is the appearance of the gambling company Unibet in Rovanperä’s publications.

Gambling company Unibet is Kalle Rovanperä’s prominent sponsor. Rovanperä argues with the Finnish police about whether the marketing has been targeted at Finland and Finns. Juha Sorri

According to Section 62 of the Lotteries Act, the marketing of gambling games other than Veikkaus oy. is prohibited in Finland.

According to IS, the Police Administration estimates that the rally star has acted in violation of the law, among other things, because Rovanperä has made Instagram posts in Finnish. The Police Board interpreted that marketing done in English can also be considered directed towards Finland.

Rovanperä responded at the end of October and justified the use of the Finnish language by saying that he was born in Finland and speaks Finnish as his mother tongue.

According to Rovanperä, the Police Government would limit his basic rights “extensively and vaguely” if he was not allowed to cooperate with a foreign gambling company at all or if he did not use his mother tongue and English.

Exchange of messages and the matter is still pending. The Police Board is still of the opinion that Rovanperä’s old publications in Finnish can be considered marketing aimed at Finland.

Rovanperä has started to use only English in its new publications, but has not deleted old publications.

Rovanperä has asked the Police Board to specify which of his publications the authority interprets as violating the law and on what basis.
