Kaiserslautern loses: Jahn Regensburg storms the Betzenberg

SSV Jahn Regensburg inflicted the second home defeat of the season on 1. FC Kaiserslautern in the 2nd Bundesliga. Man of the day in the 3-0 (1-0) away win was Jahn striker Andreas Albers.

For newcomers Kaiserslautern, a series of six draws ended on matchday 12. After their remarkable start to the season, the Palatinate drop back to ninth place in the table. Regensburg improved to tenth place after two games without a threesome.

Albers twice with brains

Jahn got off to a good start. The visitors were ahead after just eight minutes after center forward Andreas Albers headed in a well-timed cross from Lasse Günther. Immediately after the break, FCK keeper Andreas Luthe prevented the 2-0 with a brilliant act after Kaan Caliskaner had shot from close range.

Luthe was beaten again after 57 minutes. Charalambos Makridis cross, Albers header – inside. 2-0 for Regensburg, for the Danes it was the fifth goal of the season.

Substitute Prince Osei Owusu put the lid on after 85 minutes after Lauterer’s defense failed to intervene at all.

Regensburg in the cup against Dusseldorf

Der Jahn is counting on great opportunities for his next task: On Wednesday (October 19th, 2022, 8.45 p.m.) league competitor Fortuna Düsseldorf is a guest in the Upper Palatinate.
