Käärijä’s ice rink concert was watched worldwide – Yle considers the interest “considerable”

Yle’s communications could not confirm how many of the viewers of the Käärijä ice rink concert stream were from abroad.

According to information received by Helsingin Sanomat, a total of more than 746,000 viewers followed the performance of Käärijän, who represented Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest, at the Helsinki Ice Hall on Yle’s various channels.

Almost 3,000 tickets were sold for the sold-out concert.

Since the interest in Käärijä is massive even outside the borders of Finland, the concert night broadcast by Yle could be watched from anywhere in the world, for example from Yle Areena. However, it was not possible to confirm from Yle’s communication how much of the viewers were from abroad.

– Unfortunately, we cannot provide numbers about the foreign viewers of Käärijä’s gig at Yle Areena, because the information is not reliable due to the location of the servers and bot traffic.

From the communication, however, it can be confirmed that many Finns abroad or foreigners watched the broadcast.

– However, the interest in Käärijä was considerable and inquiries about the visibility of the stream came from different parts of the world in advance.

The wrapper has been reported to have topped the playlists around the world, because the Eurovision song Cha Cha Cha rose to the top of the viral charts in Sweden, Japan, the United States, Great Britain, France and Germany, among others.

The song is also the most streamed Finnish song of all time, at least on the Spotify streaming service.
