The Juventus 2023-24 format cannot be just Vlahovic and Chiesa’s. All things considered, to have a high-flying championship you need around seventy goals: the contribution of the two starting attackers will be fundamental, but a great contribution to the scoring count will also have to come from the others. The amount of seasonal goals will have to be divided between attackers, midfielders and defenders: the three specially observed out of role are Rabiot, Bremer and Danilo.

CHURCH AND VLAHOVIC

The most awaited in the scoring area is obviously Vlahovic, returning from a season in the shadows with only 10 goals (of which 2 from penalties). The Serbian center forward’s goal is to at least double his score: last year Osimhen won the top scorers’ ranking with 26 goals, Lautaro Martinez finished immediately after with 21. For the Juventus 9, it would be enough to go back just two seasons: to in his first (half) year at Juventus, also thanks to an excellent start to the season with Fiorentina, he closed the championship with 24 goals in 36 games. From Chiesa, who the coach wants closer to goal as a second striker, Allegri asked for around 15 goals: net of the difficulties encountered in recent seasons due to physical problems, it must be said that the only time he went double figure dates back to his last season in Serie A with Fiorentina, when he played alongside Vlahovic (2019-20), and in his first year at Juve he stopped at 8 goals (plus 8 assists).

THE GROUPERS

A decisive contribution will have to come from the other attackers: Milik and Kean. They will often come on during the match, but precisely for this reason their goals will often be decisive. Together they should guarantee between 10 and 15 goals: last year the Pole scored 7 and the born in 2000 scored 6, who also aims to soon find a blue shirt again. But Yildiz should not be underestimated, who Allegri asked to try to finish on goal as much as possible. In this year’s game even the wingers can go to the net: from Kostic to McKennie, even Weah himself. But the one who is called to confirm himself in front of goal is above all Rabiot, who last year had his best season in terms of goals. It won’t be easy for the Frenchman to get close to double figures again, but he is now much more convinced that he can have goals in his legs and continues to try. Just like Bremer and Danilo, who – on dead balls – can become dangerous in the air like Gatti.
