Jürgen Klopp is supposed to take the Red Bull clubs to a new level. Probably the most important club in the group is RB Leipzig. Klopp appeared there on Monday.

Jürgen Klopp visited coach Marco Rose at the Rasenballsport Leipzig training center. Klopp, previously the long-time coach of Liverpool FC, is global head of football at Red Bull and was already surprisingly in the stadium on Sunday, watching Saxony’s 4-2 win against Werder Bremen from the VIP stands.

As “Bild” reported, he arrived at Cottaweg on Monday morning around 9 a.m. According to information from the German Press Agency (dpa), Klopp took part in a meeting with the management, including sports director Marcel Schäfer and speaker Sebastian Schuppan. Together with Mario Gomez (Technical Director) he wanted to visit the training of the professionals as well as the academy and the new office building. We will continue to Salzburg in the evening.

Klopp is said to have decided to visit the Bundesliga game against Bremen at short notice. Only after the final whistle did the Leipzig players find out about the prominent spectator. “I think he saw a nice game,” said national player David Raum. “I’m happy he’s here. We’ll see what his influence is.”

Klopp will be officially introduced as global football boss in Salzburg on Tuesday. Together with managing director Oliver Mintzlaff, he will answer questions from more than 200 journalists in Hangar 7. In his new role, Klopp is responsible for the clubs in Leipzig, Salzburg, New York, Brazil and Japan. The Red Bull Group also holds shares in Paris FC and is a sponsor of Leeds United.

Meanwhile, RB coach Marco Rose emphasized that he would like the roles to be clearly defined: “It would be important if we could do our work at the locations every day without constantly looking at what Jürgen Klopp is doing. That’s how he understands his role Neither, I think.” Last year, when Rose was criticized after a series of games without a win, Klopp is said to have expressed his internal support for the then coach.
